Duffield is hoping to reverse home form

Belper Town have another chance to turn around their home form tomorrow when the Nailers play the second of five consecutive matches at Christchurch Meadow, against Kidsgrove Athletic.

Of their last nine home games in all competitions, Belper have lost eight of them – their only win coming against bottom club Shepshed Dynamo last month.

Last Saturday, they failed to build on their excellent win at Ilkeston when they lost 2-0 at home to Coalville Town.

"After the Ilkeston result, I was surprised by last Saturday's performance," said Nailers boss Peter Duffield (pictured).

"We were excellent for the first 20 minutes and were all over them. Then, for some reason, we stopped doing the things we were doing well and allowed them to get a foothold in the game.

"It was a nothing game after but they scored two wonder strikes."

Duffield hopes to have defender Dan White back tomorrow, while Aaron Pride starts a three-match ban.

Midfielder Colin Marrison will be out until the end of February, as his knee injury requires surgery.

Young midfielder Dominic Allen has joined the club on "work experience" from Burton Albion and was an unused substitute against Coalville.

"Kidsgrove are a good team and won 4-0 away at Brigg on Tuesday," said Duffield.

"It will be extremely difficult but we are the home team and it is up to us to make all the running.

"We need to raise the tempo and make sure we're up for it."
