Charlie Gatter has now left the club after his 1 month loan came to an end after the Emirates FA cup tie with Halesowen Town.

Gatter joined the Nailers on loan from Burton Albion in August, most memorably scoring a superb header against Gresley FC in his first start for the club.

Gatter said: “I really enjoyed my short time at Belper and I have learnt a lot in that time.

“I would like to thank everyone at the club for making me feel at home in my time there on and off the pitch.

“It was a really good experience on the whole which will most certainly benefit me going ahead into the rest of my career.

“I would also like to thank Charlie (Palmer, manager) and Lee (Barrow, assistant manager) for the opportunity and wish them and the rest of the players all the best for the rest of the season.

Nailers manager, Charlie Palmer, added that he had hoped to keep Gatter but would like to wish him the best with his career.

“He did a good job while at the club and certainly added a lot to the back line for us.

“We offered him another month here where he would get first team football, however his agent believes that he should be playing at a Conference North level, I don’t think the footballing decisions should be left to the agent and should be more about what the player wants.

“I wish him all the best, whether that be at Burton Albion or at a Conference North club, but he should definitely be getting minutes because he is a fantastic player.”

The defender made 6 appearances, 3 of which were starts, in his short time at Belper Town, contributing as a centre back and as a left back. Charlie will certainly be missed as a player and the club would like to wish him the very best with the rest of his career.
