The Nailers former Press Officer, Joe Malone has penned an open letter to the club after securing a new journalistic post in the south of England.

Dear all,

I have spent two years as Press Officer for our football club, and I'd like to thank you all for the privilege.

In the two seasons I have spent here, I have experienced the joys of promotion, and the lows of relegation. But one thing that has never changed is the fantastic support from everybody connected with our club.

I must make a personal thank you to Nigel Oldrini, who allowed me to take over his role as Press Officer, and for all the help he has given me from day one.

Match day secretary, Ian Wright, also deserves a big thank you. He has supported me throughout my role at the club, and has driven me several thousands of miles over the past two years, to all the away games. His generosity is unrivalled.

Other heart felt mentions go to Tony Treagus, who is a credit to himself. To Dave Laughlin, who is very much the driving force of our club. To Tim Harrison, who is an unsung hero and has become a personal friend. To Hugh Robinson, whose good nature brings a spark to the club. To the board of directors, who continue to ensure the club is always moving forward. To the players, who give their all in the games they play. To Peter Duffield, Jon Froggatt and Jimmy Albans, for giving me their time for interviews. And, finally, to all the supporters, who make the club what it is, and support the club every single day.

I'll always be a supporter of the club.

Here's to a season of success.

Best wishes

Joe Malone
