Belper
Town Football Club is delighted to announce the names of the management
team who will be in charge of their newly re-formed reserve team from
next season.
Joining
the Club are John Boyle and the former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper,
Kevin Pressman.
The
management pair have until recently been joint managers of the Sutton
Town Under 19s side, whilst Kevin is also currently the goalkeeping coach
at Scunthorpe United.
The
management due bring a wealth of experience to Christchurch Meadow, none more so than Pressman, who
played 478 times for Sheffield Wednesday, including over 100 appearances
in the Premier League.
The
Reserve team will play in the newly formed Central Midlands Football
League Reserves Division which will comprise 16 teams, all with Level 6
non-league stadium facilities, including floodlighting.
Although
this is a Saturday-based league, it is hoped that the Nailers second
string will play as many matches as possible in midweek, but this will be
dependant upon opposing teams being in agreement.
The
Club will use the reserve team mainly for the development of young
players, including those who are set to graduate from the successful
youth ranks of Belper Town Juniors FC.
It
will also provide an opportunity for the Nailers first team managers,
Andy Carney and Danny Hudson, to cast their eyes over triallists and the
younger players coming through the youth ranks.
It
is expected that players recovering from injury will also be able to step
up their return to fitness by making appearances for the reserve team.
John
and Kevin have already had successful meetings with the Nailers first
team management duo and also with the Belper Town Juniors Executive
Committee as they begin to develop this important platform between the
Nailers youth system and the first team.
John
Boyle can be contacted on 07972 448490.
