Described by the Belper Town gaffer Grant Black as a “Tough tackling old fashioned centre half”, Andy Hawksworth has agreed to join the Nailers in a bid to reinforce the Belper Town defence that was a clear issue during the last campaign.

Speaking to Belper Town FC, Grant Black said “He (Andy Hawksworth) loves defending and putting his head where people don’t even put their feet”.

“I have worked really well with him before and I know what we will get from him. He is a very consistent performer who again we are ecstatic he has agreed to come to Belper Town".

“He will be available midway through pre-season due to injury, but he will be raring to go by then”.

After he agreed to join the Nailers, the player himself Andy Hawksworth said “I am happy to be back playing under Grant, Norbs and Ridders who are a great management team”.

“I am pleased to sign for Belper Town. It is a new challenge and I can’t wait to get started”.
