Charlie Palmer has resigned as the manager of Belper Town Football Club.

Palmer took over at the Marstons Stadium in 2015 following the departure of Jimmy Albans.

But after his first full year in charge of the Nailers, Palmer has decided to step down going into the 2017/18 season.

Palmer was happy with his time at Belper and hopes to see the club continue to thrive going into the future.

He said: “It has been a pleasure to work at Belper and I would like to thank everyone who has supported me during my time at the club.

“I hope that everyone can recognise that I have left in the club in a healthier position than when I joined and I hope they continue to improve in the future.”

Nailers chairman Alan Benfield said: “We certainly found a great coach in Charlie and he will be sadly missed at Belper.”

Belper Town Football Club are sad to see Charlie leave and would like to wish him every success in the future in and out of football.
