Tuesday at the Marston's stadium proved busy with the signings of Max Beardmore and Joel Ambalu.

As a permanent replacement for Danny Roberts who joined rivals Leek Town midway through the 2017/18 season, Max Beardmore will protect the Nailers goal between the sticks for the upcoming season.

Beardmore joins up with the first team squad shortly after having a successful season with the Tamworth U21 squad who won the quadruple. Prior to his recent triumphs, he began his development at Birmingham City FC’s Academy.

Speaking to Belper Town FC, the Nailers manager Grant Black said, “Max has served his time at Tamworth and is now ready to cement a number one spot in the Evostik league to kick his career onto the next level”.

Max Beardmore seemed equally excited to put pen to paper when he said “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge and can’t wait to get started. I’m really grateful for the opportunity the club and the manager have given me”.

Sitting alongside Max Beardmore to complete his status as a Nailer was forward Joel Ambalu.

23-year-old Ambalu began his footballing career under the guidance of the current West Bromwich Albion manager Darren Moore as an academy player at the Baggies before enjoying spells at Vanarama conference sides Torquay United and most recently North Ferriby United FC.

Excited at the prospect of Joel playing under his guidance next season, Grant Black sung Ambalu’s praises when he said “Joel is a great talent. With power, pace and technical ability we really see him doing things in the league with all of his attributes”.

“He played in the conference north last season and is hungry to progress which is great for us to have that kind of appetite”.

Speaking about both additions, Black said “Both lads have a great attitude to be successful and that is what we want in the team and dressing room that we will create”.

Both signings will be looking to cement their place within the first team during the pre-season fixtures that begin up the A38 away at South Normington Athletic on Saturday 14th July 2018 at 3PM.
