Biography
After scoring four goals for Arnold Town in a FA Youth Cup tie, Middlesbrough signed Ben in January 2006 in a deal reported to be worth up to £100,000. He made his first senior Middlesbrough appearance in the Premier League game away at Manchester City in October 2007, after coming on as substitute and marking his debut with a goal. He signed a deal to join Celtic in January 2008 but in August 2009 Ben joined Swindon Town but moved on loan to Dundee in 2010. The following season, he signed for Lincoln City as part of former Celtic player Chris Sutton's revolution at Sincil Bank, but ended up involved in the team's relegation from the Football League. He then moved back north of the border, joining Kilmarnock on a short term contract before returning south to Mansfield Town in January 2012, for a two-and-a-half year stint with the Stags. He transferred to Nuneaton Town but after an unproductive spell there, joined Basford United in 2015 from where he made his move to the Nailers in October 2016.
