David signed for the Nailers in October 2021 from Scarborough Athletic. Born in York, David spent ten years in Leeds United's youth set up before he moved to Nottingham Forest at the start of the 2007 season. He departed Forest and joined Bradford City on deadline day and was handed a contract until the end of the season. Following his departure from Valley Parade, he joined Guiseley before moving on to Halifax Town. David finished the season with Halifax, but in June 2009, he returned to Conference North side Eastwood Town, where he had previously played on loan. Further moves to Garforth Town, Ossett Town, Hyde United and Scarborough Athletic followed. David has been a consistent goal scorer throughout his career and Grant Black will be hoping he can maintain his scoring ratio at the Raygar Stadium. He made the move to player/coach at the start of the 2022/23 season.
