We want your unwanted kit!

1 year ago By David Laughlin

Belper Town FC is backing the biggest collection of unwanted kit for disadvantaged youngsters in the history of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League!

With the countdown to the Sports Traider 2016 Easter Kit Amnesty now well underway following the delivery of branded collection bins to all 68 league clubs, officials at the Evo-Stik NPL’s official charity partner are hoping fans visiting the Marston’s Stadium over the final months of the campaign will bring along any spare or unwanted kit.

Produced and delivered in recent weeks for free by haulage giants Eddie Stobart Logistics, the bins will be emptied after the traditional double header of holiday fixtures at Easter.

As well as being recycled and distributed locally, the donations will also be sold in Sports Traider’s retail outlets with the money generated being re-invested into grassroots sport for disadvantaged children and young people.

Sports Traider, unveiled as the Evo-Stik NPL’s new charity last summer, have been using the #Kit Amnesty to mobilise fans on social media since before Christmas when students at the NPLFA, the league’s ground-breaking academy, kicked off this season’s efforts for the good cause by collecting among their friends and families.

Founded in 2009 in Bedford by Lance Haggith, the 2010 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero winner, Sports Traider is dedicated to helping UK youngsters discover and fulfil their sporting potential, whatever their background, ability or disability.

Apart from their growing number of permanent collection points and recycling banks in strategic locations and links with schools and sports centres around the country, the charity also works with local sports brands and retail outlets who are invited to donate surplus, end-of-line or seconds stock directly.
