An Alex Steadman hatrick and one from substitute Evan Garnett did the damage despite the Nailers going behind after three minutes.
Craig Nelthorpe opened the scoring for the away side when he took advantage when Belper conceded possession, he cut inside Phil Watt and curled the ball past debutant Charlie Mansfield in the home sides goal.
The Nailers equalised thanks to some great work from Rob Stevenson who picked the ball up deep in Matlock’s half and drove forward, he slipped Steadman in who drilled the ball low past Gladiator’s ‘keeper Ryan Pugh.
Steadman got his second on the stroke of half-time, Phil Watt side-footedJonathan Williams’ free-kick onto the bar but Steadman was on hand to bundle home the rebound.
Joel Purkiss got Matlock back on level terms five minutes into the second half, his original header was brilliantly kept out by Mansfield but Purkiss smashed home the rebound from close range.
Belper withstood some heavy pressure and caught Matlock out on the counter, Stevenson beat his man down the left wing and was felled as he drove into the box.
Steadman stepped up and sent the ‘keeper the wrong way and to complete his hatrick, also scoring his second penalty in three days after he scored a late equaliser against Kidsgrove on Saturday.
Garnett started on the bench but that did not stop him from extending his impressive goal tally, securing the win in the final minutes with a deflected effort which wrong footed Gladiators ‘keeper Pugh.
Mansfield, who was making his debut for the Nailers, made some highly impressive saves throughout.
Particularly when he tipped over Purkiss’ curling effort, then from the resulting corner he made a fantastic reaction save from centre-half Alex Peterson’s header.
The Nailers look to continue their five game unbeaten run as they host Leek Town at The Marston’s Stadium on Saturday.
