Two goals inside the opening twenty-five minutes gave Goole control of the game, centre-half Alex Varley broke the deadlock with a glancing header from a right sided corner just after the quarter hour mark.
The Vikings doubled their lead just five minutes later, the set up perfectly for forward Jamie Coulson whose emphatic half-volley from just inside the box nestled into the far corner.
The Nailers came out stronger in the second half and responded on the hour mark, Rob Stevenson smashed the ball in from close range after Goole ‘keeper Thomas Beaurepaire parried Connor Johnson’s low strike.
With Belper pushing for an equaliser, the Vikings looked dangerous on the counter and Bobby Johnson was hauled down by Lee Cooksey just outside the box with just over ten minutes to go.
From the resulting free-kick full-back David Taylor drilled the ball under the wall and Nailers ‘keeper Mark Rathbone, who was making his competitive debut in place of the suspended Danny Haystead, was helpless as his net rippled.
Belper’s Connor Johnson did his best to help his side salvage something from the game but his strike in stoppage time was too little too late, he confidently struck the ball into the top corner after substitute Anton Wedderburn had laid the ball back to him.
Goole had a great chance to kill the game off with just minutes remaining and with the score at 3-1, Coulson wrestled Paul Lister off of the ball and was clean through on goal, he was thwarted by eighteen-year-old Rathbone who stuck out a leg to keep the ball out.
It was Belper who had the best two chances to get back into the game, but they wasted both. Lister headed over a Ben Fairclough corner from six yards out, Fairclough then created another great chance for the Nailers, he knocked down a long diagonal ball into the path of stand-in Captain Sam Purcicoe who blazed the ball over the bar.
