Laurence Constable scored on his Belper Town debut in five-star performance

A strong first-half performance did the damage for the Nailers, the visitors were 3-0 up after half-an-hour thanks to goals from Ben Watkis, debutant Laurence Constable and Alex Steadman.

Dynamo pulled one back on the stroke of half-time through Burton Albion loanee Mark Shelton, Dom Allen came off the bench at half-time for Belper and restored his sides three goal lead just ten minutes into the second period.

Will Dennis got the hosts back in the game ten minutes from time, his deep cross eluded Nailers ‘keeper Danny Haystead and went all the way in at the back post.

Late drama ensued but the Nailers had the last laugh, Alex Steadman rounded Dynamo ‘keeper James Martin only to be brought down, Martin was given his marching orders and Steadman stepped up to slot the ball past substitute goalkeeper Charlie Hornby from the spot.

Ben Watkis opened the scoring for the Nailers, Martin’s poor touch from Chris Spencer’s back-pass allowed him to finish into an unguarded goal.

Laurence Constable, who was making his full league debut for Belper, scored the pick of the afternoon’s goals, Steadman’s cross found him on the penalty spot and he swept the ball home with a confident left-footed volley.

Alex Steadman got himself on the score sheet just minutes later, Jonathan Williams won the ball high up in Dynamo’s half and Watkis played the ball across the box to the goalscorer who stroked the ball home from close range.

Dennis made a marauding run down the right-wing to set up Mark Shelton for Dynamo’s first goal of the afternoon, a player Belper have been chasing in recent weeks showed them what they are missing out on.

Dynamo, who sit one place off the bottom of the Evo-Stik Division One South table, applied heavy pressure to Haystead’s goal in the dying minutes but Alfie Taylor blazed over their best chance from six-yards out.
