Belper went into the 68th minute being a goal down. But strikes from Alex Steadman and Evan Garnett pulled the Nailers into a comfortable lead that was thoroughly deserved due to their clear attacking prowess.
The biggest moment of the game was the introduction of Garnett in the 65th minute as this changed the game completely.
Within three minutes of Garnett entering the field he found himself on the score sheet to bring the Nailers level; an impressive ball from Ruben Wiggins-Thomas teed the forward up before his thunderous strike crashed into the bottom left.
Just a minute after this Belper found themselves in the lead for the first time in the fixture.
After quickly regaining possession from the Romulus kick off; the Nailers began to march up field through Alex Steadman down the left.
Steadman breezed past several Romulus defenders from blasting home to bring the score to 3-2.
Garnett then got his second, just 13 minutes after entering the field of play, as he counter attacked excellently before breezing past the Romulus keeper; giving him a simple tap in to obtain his brace.
Romulus did take the lead in the fixture through Nathan Waite midway through the first half.
Romulus forward Jordan Francis found himself open on the edge of the box from his sides corner before striking a hard shot into the box; but Waite got the last touch to deceive Mark Rathbone and put his side in front.
But the Nailers quickly pulled one back through Ruben Wiggins-Thomas, his excellent left footed strike found its way into the bottom right to pull Belper back level just before the end of the half.
Despite a spectacular second half for the Nailers, it did start in the worst way possible.
Just one minute after kick off; Romulus were back in the lead through Jordan Francis. The forward found himself in space in the Belper box before finishing excellently to put his side in front.
But the excellent 10 minutes of play from the Nailers was enough to see off Romulus as they walked away as winners by 4 goals to 2.
This win means that Belper are now 10 league games in a row without suffering a defeat; a run that the Nailers will be looking to extend on Boxing Day when they face Sheffield FC at the Marston’s Stadium.
