This is the Nailers longest winning run of the season so far but they certainly had to work for it in this fixture.
Belper dominated the first half and opened the scoring through Ruben Wiggins-Thomas.
Eric Graves played an excellent ball forward to Evan Garnett; he then played an inch-perfect low cross into Wiggins-Thomas who rifled the ball into the roof of the net.
This was the forward's third goal in two games after his brace against Kidsgrove Athletic just two days previous.
The bobbly surface at Sheffield FC made it difficult for the Nailers to truly get into their rhythm and play their normal passing game.
As the game began to near it’s end, Sheffield began to push Belper in an attempt to force an equaliser.
The closest that the home side came was through Danny South, he beat Mark Rathbone to the ball and his effort began to trickle towards the goal.
Luckily Joe Hunt was on hand to clear the ball off the line and maintain the Nailers lead.
Sheffield continued to push into the final minutes but simply couldn’t find a finish.
They looked to take advantage of their significant height advantage; although most of their headers strayed away from the Belper goal.
This was the Nailers penultimate game of the season.
They have already guaranteed a top half finish this season; with them only being able to finish as low as 11th, although 10th is also their highest possible finish.
The Nailers will be looking to ensure that they can finish above Bedworth United in their final game of the season.
Chasetown are the visitors to the Marston’s Stadium in the season finale; with both teams looking to finish this season on the best note possible.
