On a wet miserable Sunday afternoon, Belper got off to a great start when Kelly played a defence splitting pass into the path of Katie who placed the ball just inside the post giving the keeper no chance.
The early goal though woke up AFC Dronfield and they came at Belper hard in midfield, and the pressure paid off as they equalised and then quickly took the lead.
The half time team talk was positive and with a few changes being made the Belper team went out ready to get back in the game. Unfortunately it was AFC who notched up a 3rd, after this Belper struggled to get any grip on the game and AFC secured victory with a 4th & 5th before the final whistle was blown.
A disappointing result, as the score line flattered the opposition, but in 2 weeks time we can make amends as we play them again.
Dame of the Game: Katie Harper for a well taken goal, and hard work upfront & on the wing
Again we have no wooden spoon moment to report but; the pointless question of the day has to be
“When does afternoon end and evening start?“
