Belper Town Ladies were on the wrong end of an extraordinary game, with hosts Pride Park FC Ladies taking the points to consolidate 2nd spot in the table.

Pride Park took just five minutes to open the scoring when Aimee Healy-Raynor crossed for Beth Jones to head home from close range. Jones would go on to terrorise Belper's defence all afternoon.

The Nailers had their first sight of goal on nine minutes when Shannon Worrall's corner created confusion in the Pride Park defence, but despite multiple attempts on goal they managed to clear to safety.

Belper improved and a couple of minutes later Worrall's great through ball found Alice Faulding, she in turn fed Anna Macluskey but she couldn't quite control the ball inside the box.

In the 12th minute Hannah Dutton found new signing Macie White but her shot was just wide.

The visitors were punished for not finding the back of the net on 14 minutes when Jones scored again, this time a fantastic strike from well outside the box which flew over Hannah Whysall.

Belper were right back in things within a couple of minutes when Dutton's pass found Faulding and in typical style she blasted home to make it 2-1.

Pride Park restored their two goal advantage almost immediately when there was hesitation in the Nailers defence who half expected a free kick to go against them, the referee waved play on and Healy-Raynor tapped in to an open goal with Whysall unable to claim the cross.

In the 21st minute White drilled in a shot from 20 yards which was tipped wide and from the resulting corner a goalmouth scramble threatened a goal for Belper but it wouldn't quite happen.

Within seconds however the Nailers were back within a goal when Worrall's long ball found White who fired home her first Belper goal.

The goal scoring was far from complete at either end, with a crazy first quarter of the match being completed on 23 minutes when Jones completed her hattrick with a nice finish to make the score 4-2.

Seven minutes before the break Tash Allderidge played in Maja Znamirowska but Whysall was equal to her shot with a good save.

The first half goals were completed by a Steph Eadon header on 39 minutes, making the score at the break 5-2 to the hosts.

Jones nearly added to her tally within a minute of the restart but, one on one, Whysall came out to narrow the angle and the shot was wide.

The 49th minute saw Belper's first opening of the half when Mia Carnelley's cross found India Amans, her shot was just over the bar.

A minute later Pride Park were 6-2 up when a mix-up at the back allowed Ellie Coleman to score.

The madness was nowhere near at an end and with the next attack Jones rounded Whysall for the hosts' 7th goal of the afternoon.

The 57th minute saw Belper gain a glimmer of hope when Jazz Buxton's precise pass found Carnelley, the finish was emphatic and the visitors were within four.

That wouldn't last long however, with Jones turning provider for Jess Page to score from close range.

On 61 minutes Carnelley found Faulding but her shot was just over as both teams threw caution to the wind.

In the 63rd minute Pride Park won a free kick which Belper couldn't clear and when the ball fell to Healy-Raynor she made no mistake.

Five minutes later Worrall's great pass found Faulding who provided the finish to make it 9-4.

The 70th minute saw Pride Park get in to double figures when a corner from the right found the head of Coleman.

Faulding completed her hattrick and moved on to 13 for the season on 77 minutes when played in by Amans, the finish past the onrushing goalkeeper was as calm as expected.

The final goal of the game came seven minutes from time when Jess Needham's corner was cleared only as far as Worrall who fired home from well outside the box.

The last action of note saw Coleman play in Znamirowska but Whysall was alert and came out to claim well.

The final whistle a few seconds later brought an incredible game of football to an end, with the clinical finishing of the hosts showing why they've only lost one game all season and remain right in the mix at the top of the Derbyshire Girls and Ladies League Division One.

The Nailers return to the Raygar Stadium for the next two Sundays, both matches kicking off at 1:30pm.
