Borrowash Victoria (H) - Sunday, 18th February 2024

The Opposition
The Vics are a difficult team to judge in Division One as they have only played six fixtures to date, that making them a third of the way through their fixtures and leaving them with 12 to play between now and the end of April.
In contrast Belper have played seven more games than Borrowash and have just five remaining including today.
The season began with a comprehensive win at home to Stanton Ilkeston, the 8-0 scoreline putting them top of the fledgling table.
A couple of weeks later they suffered their first, and to date only defeat at the hands of title challengers Pride Park, 3-2 at Moorways.
They got back to winning ways in October by defeating Buxton 6-1 and followed this up with another impressive win at home to Amber Valley.
After this they would go over two months without a game before the return fixture at Buxton which they won comfortably again, this time 4-1.
Their only fixture of 2024 so far saw them return from Stanton Ilkeston with all three points following a 5-1 victory.
Today marks the team with the lowest number of fixtures played against the team with the highest.
The Vics sit in 6th position, one place below Belper and they have the following record: P 6 W 5 D 0 L 1 F 27 A 7 Pts. 15.
In theory despite being 11 points off top spot they are one of the favourites for the title.

The Nailers
Last time out Belper picked up a comprehensive and deserved win at Stanton Ilkeston; Needham, Faulding and Carnelley scoring in a 3-0 win.
This got the Nailers back to winning ways after a 2-5 home reversal to Pride Park the week before.
Prior to that an injury time strike had secured a draw at home to Amber Valley and this came off the back off their best result of the season when Draycott Victoria were defeated at the Raygar Stadium.
Belper come in to this match in 5th place with the following record: P 13 W 5 D 2 L 6 F 35 A 36 Pts. 17.

Head to Head
Last season the Vics completed a treble over Belper, winning both league matches by a single goal and knocking the Nailers out of the Cup as well.
The previous season it was defeat for Belper at home by five goals to nil in March but the following month revenge was gained with a 2-0 win in the away fixture.

The return fixture from today is scheduled to take place at the Anderson Electrical Arena on Sunday 7th April.

Form Guide
Belper Town - (7 Jan) LLWDLW (11 Feb)
Borrowash Victoria - (3 Sep) WLWWWW (4 Feb)

Permutations
The Nailers could potentially finish the day in 3rd position. This would require a home victory at the Raygar Stadium and for Stanton Ilkeston to defeat Wirksworth Colts.
A draw will leave Belper in 5th but bring them level on points with Amber Valley who have a better goal difference and will have two games in hand by full time.
A Borrowash victory would leapfrog them above the Nailers and Amber Valley in to 4th due to their superior goal difference.
