Belper Town Ladies took the lead at home to Buxton but were behind by half-time and a goalless second half meant the points went back to the High Peak.

On a heavy but perfectly playable pitch, following the Men's Team match the previous day, it was the visitors who started the better and on eight minutes a long through ball found Rachael Kelly but her shot was comfortably saved by Hannah Whysall.

Within a minute the Bucks were on the attack again, this time it was a shot from range by Becky Hill which Whysall was also able to catch.

Belper broke the deadlock in the 21st minute when Sammy Bennett's pinpoint pass found Alice Faulding and the top scorer never looked like missing, producing a great first touch and finish with her right foot.

It took only four minutes for the visitors to level the scores. Sarah Martin picked up the ball on the right hand side of the penalty area and looped the ball in. It evaded Whysall and nestled in the corner of the net - whether it was a shot or a cross only Martin will know!

In the 34th minute the turnaround was complete when Marissa Jackson found Hill who produced a composed finish across Whysall to make it 1-2.

Whysall was called in to action a couple of minutes before the break when Hill was once again played in. The Belper goalkeeper produced a great save to keep the deficit at one.

In the final minute of the half, Faulding laid the ball off for Macie White who tried her luck but the shot was saved by Megan Armett.

The second half began quietly and it wasn't until the 59th minute that a Hollie Thompson corner found Faulding, she produced a looping header which the Bucks cleared off the line.

A couple of minutes later Thompson fired in a free kick which was just over the bar.

On 66 minutes Belper were lucky not to fall further behind when a corner was swung in which they couldn't clear but despite several attempts at goal Belper survived, and they had Emma Varnam to thank for a great point blank save from Kelly.

In the 68th minute Bennett intercepted a short goal kick and played a one-two with Faulding but on getting the ball back she could only find the side netting.

The 76th minute saw another one-two, this time Faulding exchanging passes with Mia Carnelley before seeing her shot saved.

Hill tried her luck again on 79 minutes, a shot which was deflected wide and again six minutes from time which was tipped wide by Varnam.

Belper nearly levelled the scores in the first minute of injury time when Anna Macluskey was played in but Armett produced a good save.

The final action of the match on 90+2 saw Varnam produce another great save, this time from Jackson.

The 1-2 defeat means the Bucks leapfrog the Nailers in to 5th place, with Dom Anderson's side having played more games than every other team in the division but without one in March; they return to action on the 7th of April with a trip to Borrowash.

Elsewhere, Bakewell Town picked up their first win of the season at the 12th attempt with an impressive 4-0 win against the team immediately above them, Stanton Ilkeston.
