A great result against top of the league.

It was an unusually Sunny Sunday in September. Belper got the game underway and took control of the game with some slick passing between Helen Tunnicliffe, Katie Harper, Alice Liggett and Jemma Wheatley which resulted in Belper taking the lead after 25 minutes. When Jemma slotted the ball home after some great build up play from back to front.
As the game reached half time Pride Park created some opportunities of their own, hitting the post in one of many efforts.
The score at half time remained 1-0.
The second half saw Belper put more good passing moves together before the game opened up and became end to end action. Any Pride Park chances were blocked out by stunning defensive play from Olivia Pell, Emma Newton, Sarah Jackson and Helen Colwill. In the last 10 minutes Pride Park had a string of corners before Belper pushed forward through Emma Brentnall, Alex Holland and Beth Parker.
A great all round squad performance saw Belper hold their lead and win their first league game with the understudy manager's guidance of Dr Deborah Knox and her mobile phone ready assistant Sue-Bo Thornhill.
