“It does not matter that it is non-league, they are great bunch of supporters. They are very loud, they keep supporting the players and help them keep going."

"It is nice to know we have a following and we hear them throughout the game, not just for five minutes but for the entire ninety minutes."

In-form Evan Garnett scored but was later substituted against Romulus, Palmer explained his reasoning behind the change:

"Evan picked up a little bit of a dead leg, I rate him highly, he is an asset to the team and I did not want to jeopardise him by keeping in on the pitch. I know I have other options up front and he has been on fire so I needed to protect him.”

“Evan is a big player for me, I have been talking to the club about keeping him here over the last couple of weeks, we are on the verge of keeping him here which is obviously good news, it will hopefully be confirmed later in the week."

The win was the Nailers second on the bounce and Palmer is pleased with how the players have responded to his challenge.

“If you look at the last two games, I said they are winnable games and I set the lads a challenge, obviously we had a good win last Saturday at Chasetown."

“In the first half we had plenty of possession and created one or two good chances, we probably should have gone in at half-time 2-0 up but the manner in which we conceded just before half-time was disappointing."
