Belper manager, Peter Duffield has confirmed the signing of new midfield player and the commitment of two of last season’s star players to another season at Christchurch Meadow.

Arriving at the club is former Football League wide midfield player Sam Duncum (pictured), who joins the Nailers from Derbyshire neighbours, Buxton.

Before joining the Bucks in the summer of 2012, Sam was with another Derbyshire club, Ilkeston FC.

He started his career at Rotherham United where he made seven first-team appearances before he had a loan spell at York City.

He finished this loan spell in April 2008 with two appearances in the Conference National and was invited to return to the club in pre-season to attempt to win a contract. However, he signed for Ilkeston Town in May 2008.

Following loan spells with Worksop Town during the 2010/11 season, Sam joined the Tigers on a permanent basis in June 2011 before moving back to Ilkeston the following winter.

Meanwhile, more encouraging news has emerged from Christchurch Meadow with star striker, Jon Froggatt committing himself to another season by signing a new 12-month contract as has influential skipper, Steve Warne.

It is understood that Duffield has a number of other irons in the fire and further announcements on incoming players are likely to be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that full back Greg Wright, midfield player Eric Graves and forward Daryll Thomas have decided to pursue their playing careers away from Christchurch Meadow,
