CN: So Lee, 1-0 up at half-time, slipping to a 3-1 defeat here in Nottinghamshire this afternoon, what happened in the second half there?
LA: Nothing happened apart from obviously a mistake for the goal for 2-1. I thought it was a bang-bang even game. I thought we were the better side in the first half, not by a massive margin, but we shaded it.
I thought they were better in the second half and shaded it. A really even game. I think a draw was probably a fair result.
But yes, I think we just got less than ruthless, and that's what I said to our players there, because KP has not made a save today and conceded three goals because they've had three chances and they've stuck them away.
That's why they're at the top of the league because they find ways to win ugly games. Because in the first half, I thought we were on top, winning all the bits in midfield.
I thought Curt and John were outstanding, and we did it again where we've had chances to kill the game. In fact, I think their goal came about 30 seconds after we'd had the exact same chance. Grats cut inside and flashed it wide.
They've gone the other end within a minute, I think. Exact same chance, but the lad’s found the corner and fine margins. But yes, we've obviously got done down the left-hand side for the last two goals.
That's disappointing, but Rhodesy had to go off at half-time, so that didn't help. But yes, we've just got to take our medicine on it, because I don't think that was a poor performance. It was a decent performance.
It was competitive. Obviously, the game being on was a miracle really, but it's a field now, which made it a massive battle. And I just thought we just looked maybe that we might have run out of legs in the last 20 minutes or so.
But yes, I don't think we can... Sometimes you want to rant and rave, that's not one of them, because it's not for the lack of trying, that was a tough game. And again, it's that ruthlessness, because even at 1-0, I think we've had two breakaways where we've gone through 3 v 2. And again, it's the final pass or the final decision. Yes, that's what's costing us at the minute.
CN: You mentioned Ben Rhodes in your comments a couple of minutes ago. Forced off at half-time with what sounds like a bad gash on his foot. What can you tell us about that?
LA: (It’s) a horrible injury.
Nothing malicious in the tackle, but I think Rhodes is going to put one down the line there. I think their left winger has come across to try and block the ball down the line. Obviously, he's stood to go right across the top of Rhodes' foot.
He's basically slashed his foot open, but it’s opened up really wide. You can see a bit too much of the bone there. I imagine that'll be quite a while until Rhodes is back, but I'll go and give him a call in a minute.
I hope it's OK. Not a nice one, that.
