Yes, you can look (at whether it was a point gained or two points lost), both ways. I think I said right at the start of the season, we played our first game away at Heaton Stannington, I said you'd always take a point in the North East.
We've had a really long week, you know, last Saturday at Aycliffe, Tuesday night Ponte, Saturday here, we've done eight hundred and some miles and I couldn't be prouder of the effort and the togetherness and the desire the lads showed.
You know, we've been down to ten men for the best part of 50, 55 minutes again there. I don't really think KP’s had a save to make in the second half. But at the same time, you do feel like it's two points dropped because that first 20 minutes we've had enough chances there to win a game, maybe even two.
I think if we're a little bit more clinical, we'll probably (be) two or three up before the game even gets messy. You know, once we got the first goal, I felt fairly comfortable. And then again, we give away a cheap goal and we've got to learn from it.
There’re things that we've sort of said in there about it's like being behind the ball in your shape, you've got to be proactive, plugging gaps and getting across the pitch and shuffling yourself about.
So we've got to work better off the ball. And then funnily enough, just like on Tuesday night, when we went down to ten, all of a sudden people seemed to stand up and take more responsibility.
The shape looked better, and it sounds daft, but I felt fairly comfortable in the game. And I know we didn't attack loads second half, but I just felt like we'll get one or two sniffs on the break. And we did.
And then I think obviously Mace got in behind a little bit and it didn't quite fall for him on his right foot. But we just take the point. It's another good away point if we back it up next week.
And that's the key. We've had some good results in terms of draws when maybe you deserve to lose, or you just nicked a draw. But you back that up with a win next week and four points from two games looks good.
Yes, that's the aim. Can we dust ourselves down? The last thing I would say is, not for excuses, but the injuries we've got at the minute, it's all seemed to fall at the same time with Greavsy getting a knock, Tav’s out unfortunately for the season it looks like, and Jack Watson's still not back fit.
We're sort of dropping like flies at the minute. And now we'll have a suspension next week to Nath. We've got a suspension coming up for Evo. We've (also) got a suspension coming up for Woody. So, a bit thin on the ground at the minute.
That's something else that we've got to sort of overcome this week and see if we can get maybe a couple of bodies through the door.
So, plenty of challenges for me as a manager to try and sort this week; that's the job, and yes, we take the point, and we move on.
