For the first twenty minutes we were electric and played really well. My biggest gripe is about our ruthlessness, I’ve said that about the last two or three games although we’ve won them. We missed too many chances.
In the first twenty minutes we had four guilt edged chances, and probably two penalties. We didn’t get the penalties obviously and took one of the chances out of four. And for me we should have been home and dry after twenty minutes and should have put them to the sword.
We’ve given them free gifts haven’t we. Dan (Moore) would be the first to say he was disappointed in those goals, when we were in the ascendancy and all over them, then we gave away a goal like we did. You can’t legislate for it and Dan will be the first to hold his hands up.
We’ve got to be better and there’s a few too many times that’s happened and he knows that and he’s working on it, but its obviously given them something to hang on to and within five minutes we’ve given another gift, so it makes life difficult.
The second half was going to be tough because of the massive wind and they were sitting in good areas, and it was very difficult to put any pressure on them with us going so big, long throws and being direct.
Yes, so it’s been a disappointing night especially after the first twenty minutes when we were good value, but then obviously we didn’t manage the game well enough.
Goals change games we know that, we were on the front foot there, and I know it sounds daft but we were battering them, and then one rush of blood and the lad taps in into the open net and all of sudden a few minutes later we do something similar in terms of making a mistake for the goal.
You can’t give teams three goals at this level; they are a good outfit, well organised and got a couple of tricky wide players and, and once we’d given them something to hang on to it made it difficult to get back in the game.
We should have had the goals to hang on to, but look, we’ve won our first three games, and (although) that was a little set back, we’ve got Saturday and Monday (coming up) and two more games to try and put some more points on the board.
It you win the next two then you’ve won four out of five and everyone’s happy, so yes everyone’s disappointed but we will take our medicine. We’re not going to win every game and obviously reaction is now important, isn’t it?
We were slightly forced into (going with two up front) that was because Keaton (August) still isn’t fit and Brodie (Litchfield) has got something wrong with his appendix, so we wish him well. So, we were kind of forced into it, but at the same time, you look at that first twenty minutes, tell me it didn’t work.
We did everything right. I thought Draper bullied their back two and if they went down there was shouting and screaming, the supporters were on the refs back, and the bench were on the refs back. He’s given them a few soft ones then he’s kind of had to walk a tightrope.
But I think it worked well but like I say once we gave them something to hang on to, and with that massive wind behind them in the second half it made life difficult to put pressure on them. Then right at the end we were maintaining the spell of pressure and putting loads of throws into their box ourselves, then we give another one away on the halfway line.
The player was in no-man’s land and scores into an open net. Again, a good strike but from my point of view, but there’s lots than we could have done differently.
