This was a thrilling performance from the Belper Academy as they looked to get their first win of the season against local rivals Mickelover.
They looked to be off to a good start with Fynn marshall's effort at the near post saved onto the post and a positive attitude shown by all players along with a solid look defensively.
Belper employed new tactics and with what seemed to be a Jack Sanders tactical masterclass made them almost unbreakable in defence which allowed them to have more confidence to go forwards. With Harry Clements being a sentinel at the back, he decided to take the defence to the opposition, getting up tight and aggressive to not allow any gaps while also sweeping from behind to clear any loose threats.
A late missed chance by Thomas Pegg could have put the team in front, however, it gained a bit too much speed and was put over the bar. Though what seemed to be a boring 0-0 draw for Belper put hope into the player's eyes and will wanting be to make next week their first win.
