With the previous loss to Ossett away last week the Belper lads still felt confident of taking something away from this game against Witton.
With an early wonder goal from wing-back Thomas Pegg due to a half volley assist from Tyrell evans , Belper seemed to be off to a flyer and regained a lot of confidence and believed they could take a big 3 points from Witton.
Witton then regained control and played some good football with Belper struggling really to create chances until missed opportunities by Fynn Marshall and Sami Naqvi meant Belper stayed on the back foot. With Witton then equalising to make the game 1-1 before half time Belper's levels had dropped.
Second half of the game was an evenly matched display from both sides with equal opportunities to win the game and nothing coming as neither team could find that final bit of quality to hit the back of the net.
With a world class performance from Bobby Taylor Belper managed to salvage a point as in the dying minutes of the game he proceeded to pull multiple saves from all angles, a true pleasure to watch a great display of shot stopping.
Belper look to next week against Mickelover to gain more points from the local derby away from home.
