The Belper youngsters continued their recent revival with this close fought victory against Ossett United

Belper put behind them the late drama at Witton last week as they looked to continue their run of good form coming into this game.

With 5 points from the last 4 and seemingly to have found their most a plying style that suits their limited playing staff.

Belper started slowly, making the game seem as though it would become a big scrap for points between the sides.

They then gained a couple of corners as Tyrell Evans seemed to have the ball on strings and picked out Fynn Marshall who although spun his defender got the ball stuck in his feet and struck straight at the goalkeeper who palmed it out for a corner.

Thomas Pegg, although told to perform a familiar set piece to himself and the team took a different approach hitting Marshall looping the ball onto his head who then flicked it down for Evans to produce a sublime finish nestling the ball into the bottom corner of the goal to put Belper 1-0 ahead early on.

Things dried up between the two sides with Belper continuing to play their free flowing football and Qssett clinging on for dear life and the half ended 1-0 with Belper deserving of much more.

Looking to keep things tight, Belper started the second half positively with chances for Bob Wardle and Fynn Marshall having multiple shots at goal.

Then, a shock goal for Belper as Wardle headed the ball toward goal and Evans flicked the ball into the bottom corner meant Belper were 2-0 up and on top once again.

Two quickfire goals from Ossett wiped out Belper's although goal scoring opportunities continued to be scarce.

But, a 'hospital pass back' to the goalkeeper from an Ossett defender and a brief press from Fynn Marshall saw the ball rebound into the Ossett net for a late winner for Belper.

Marshall who also had a chance to seal the game just minutes before the end of the game, after a one-on-one with the 'keeper, but missed at the near post.

Overall, another dominant performance and Belper really looking to have come on leaps and bounds and looking forward to their meeting at Witton Albion next week.
