The Opposition - History
They were formed in 1919 under the name of Saltisford Rovers and played in various local leagues including the Warwick League, Leamington & District League and the Warwickshire Combination until 1967.
During this period the club won a number of honours, including the Birmingham Alliance Senior Cup when they defeated Birmingham City in the final at St. Andrews.
In 1967 the club joined the West Midlands (Regional) League. Three years later they changed to their current name (which came from the fact that their ground is by Warwick Racecourse) and soon afterwards switched to the Midland Football Combination, where they were champions in 1988 and runners-up in 1989.
After the latter honour they gained promotion to the Southern League where they remained until 2003 when they finished bottom of the Western Division and dropped into the Midland Football Alliance.
They remained in the Midland Football Alliance until the end of the 2008–09 season, when they were relegated to the Midland Football Combination Premier Division, now the Midland Football League Division One.
At the start of the 2016–17 season the club began huge infrastructure renovations following the arrival of local businessman Chairman Gary Vella and the new committee members the previous year, including new changing rooms, floodlighting, stands and artificial training area.
The club's record win is 15–0 recorded on 26 December 2016.
They gained their first promotion for 30 years in 2018-19 as runners-up in the Midland Football League Division One.
The club installed a 3g pitch in the winter of 2020 in order to expand their community activity and provide a broad spectrum of football to include women's and disability amongst other community groups.
Racing Club Warwick made it to the final of the 2023-24 Birmingham Senior Cup before losing 9-0 against Aston Villa U21.

The Opposition - This Season
The Racers won their season opener against Droitwich Spa in the FA Cup then picked up four points from their first two NPL games followed by further progression in the Cup.
However they then hit a sticky patch of three successive defeats before bouncing back to continue their decent Cup run by beating Kidsgrove Athletic.
Another tough run followed, no win in five including an FA Trophy exit and they also lost in the Cup following a replay against Evesham United.
Two further league defeats came after that but then a superb run of three successive wins, scoring four goals in each and conceding only one.
After this they were held to a draw by Coventry Sphinx before being defeated by AFC Rushden & Diamonds and picking up a point at Lichfield City.
They come in to the match today off the back of a good win at home to Corby Town last weekend, Archie Hamp scoring twice to make it seven goals in five games for him.

The Nailers
After an indifferent pre-season, Belper started well in the NPL with three victories in their first four matches but this early spell also saw an exit from the FA Cup at the first hurdle.
A good point was secured on Bank Holiday Monday at Basford and it was another draw against Rugby Town back at the Raygar.
The Nailers battled past Newcastle Town in the FA Trophy before defeating Bedworth United.
Rugby Town ended the FA Trophy run at the Second Qualifying Round stage but it was back to winning ways against Wellingborough Town and Coventry Sphinx.
Carlton Town won at Belper on the 7th of October to inflict a first defeat of the season and four days later it became back to back defeats as Coleshill won 2-0.
The Nailers bounced back well from these setbacks, with an impressive victory at Anstey Nomads being followed by a comfortable home win over AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Six players have appeared in every match so far.
Kevin Bastos leads the goalscoring charts with six, while Jacob Fenton, Liam Moran and Ben Rhodes have three each. Jonathan Wafula, Jacob Gratton and Jack Broadhead have two to their name and a further four players have one goal apiece.

Permutations
The Nailers will remain top with a draw as Carlton Town - one point back - are not in action and Rugby Borough & Corby Town (who are in FA Trophy action anyway) are three points behind.
Defeat would leave the door open for Rugby Borough to go top with a win although they would need a goal difference swing of four.
For Racing Club, victory could propel them as high as 8th if results and goal swings go their way while a draw would only move them up one place at best.
Defeat could see them dragged down as far as 18th.
