The Opposition - History
They were formed in 1919 under the name of Saltisford Rovers and played in various local leagues including the Warwick League, Leamington & District League and the Warwickshire Combination until 1967.
During this period the club won a number of honours, including the Birmingham Alliance Senior Cup when they defeated Birmingham City in the final at St. Andrews.
In 1967 the club joined the West Midlands (Regional) League. Three years later they changed to their current name (which came from the fact that their ground is by Warwick Racecourse) and soon afterwards switched to the Midland Football Combination, where they were champions in 1988 and runners-up in 1989.
After the latter honour they gained promotion to the Southern League where they remained until 2003 when they finished bottom of the Western Division and dropped into the Midland Football Alliance.
They remained in the Midland Football Alliance until the end of the 2008–09 season, when they were relegated to the Midland Football Combination Premier Division, now the Midland Football League Division One.
At the start of the 2016–17 season the club began huge infrastructure renovations following the arrival of local businessman Chairman Gary Vella and the new committee members the previous year, including new changing rooms, floodlighting, stands and artificial training area.
The club's record win is 15–0 recorded on 26 December 2016.
They gained their first promotion for 30 years in 2018-19 as runners-up in the Midland Football League Division One.
The club installed a 3g pitch in the winter of 2020 in order to expand their community activity and provide a broad spectrum of football to include women's and disability amongst other community groups.
Racing Club Warwick made it to the final of the 2023-24 Birmingham Senior Cup before losing 9-0 against Aston Villa U21.

The Opposition - This Season
The Racers went unbeaten in their first four matches in all competitions but a defeat at home to Sutton Coldfield Town kicked off a run of seven reversals in nine games.
After this they found their scoring boots, notching four goals in each of the next three matches.
The next few weeks through October saw inconsistent form but in November they won four out of five.
After a poor start to December they bounced back with three straight wins.
Their recent form has dipped and they come in to the match today without a win in six, putting them 19th in the form guide.

The Nailers
Belper had a great start to the NPL campaign, not losing until matchday ten but did exit the FA Cup at the first hurdle, Kidsgrove Athletic winning in Staffordshire.
There was an early exit from the FA Trophy as well, Rugby Town coming from two goals down to win 3-2 and the league form was up and down after this match, with two wins followed by two defeats and then another two wins before a draw and a defeat!
November was much better with three wins from four matches and the concession of just a single goal.
December started well with four further matches without defeat but it ended with reversals to St. Neots Town and Long Eaton United.
The Nailers have struggled to get any momentum in 2026, with a draw at home to Basford United on New Year's Day followed by a win in the County Cup but then an NPL defeat to Corby Town.
After ending Wellingborough Town's fantastic run with victory in Northamptonshire, Belper drew at home to Coleshill Town and slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Carlton Town the following Saturday but then in midweek came a comprehensive win at Rugby Town.
Three weeks ago the Nailers thought they had won it with an Ioan Evans header in the 85th minute but a Martyn Waghorn penalty for Anstey Nomads secured them a point.
A County Cup exit to Ilkeston Town followed.
The last two weekends have seen postponements.
Appearances wise, two players - Kev Bastos and Curtis Burrows - have appeared in every match this season.
In terms of goals, Bastos leads the way with ten, closely followed by Liam Moran and Jacob Gratton with nine. Jacob Fenton scored four before his move away from the Raygar Stadium while four players sit on four goals. Five players have three goals or fewer.
Head to Head
The two sides have met only once before.
Back in October at Townsend Meadow, the Nailers took an early lead thanks to an early Liam Moran goal. Strikes from Taylor and Harding put the hosts ahead but Jacob Gratton's injury time free kick meant Belper came away with a point.

Permutations
Belper can climb to 3rd if they win and Basford United are defeated.
Coleshill Town will go above the Nailers if they better our result while Wellingborough could also leapfrog up the playoff positions ahead of us. This would require them winning and Belper losing.
Anstey Nomads in 2nd are now seven points clear and Carlton Town in top spot a further eleven points ahead of them. Those two sides face each other this weekend.
For Racing Club, if they win and other results go their way they could end the day in 7th, however in a tightly congested middle section of the table they could drop as low as 15th if defeated.
