The first chance went to the Nailers a couple of minutes in with Alice Faulding's pass finding Anna Macluskey but Jessica Lee was out of the Dronfield goal to clear.
In the sixth minute a free kick was launched in to the Belper penalty area but headed wide by Kirsty Unwin.
On 10 minutes Charlotte Bennehan saw her shot well saved by Emma Varnam as the visitors started to dominate.
Six minutes later Bennehan tried another first time shot but again Varnam was equal to it.
In the 23rd minute Bennehan's free kick from range drifted just wide of the post and Varnam was back in action on 28 minutes, saving Kristine Humble's close range effort.
A good Belper move on the half hour mark involving Hollie Thompson, Macluskey and Faulding created a chance for Thompson but her shot was just wide.
The 34th minute saw Humble shoot wide from inside the box and five minutes later at the other end Faulding fed in Macluskey but Lee tipped it wide for a corner.
A minute before the break Suzie Gelson collected the ball in the penalty area but shot wide and the Nailers reached half time with the score goalless.
The visitors started the second half strongly, Gelson shooting wide when through on goal in the first minute of the half then soon after it was Humble who shot wide under pressure from Varnam.
Dronfield took the lead on 47 minutes when a misplaced pass in the Belper defence fell to Humble who shot first time, giving Varnam no chance.
Humble saw a shot go wide a minute later and again on 51 minutes when played through on goal.
In the 54th minute Honor White played the ball in for Freya Wilson who headed just wide for Belper.
Another chance came along for Belper on 57 minutes, again created by White who saw the goalkeeper drop the cross and Faulding's shot came back off the crossbar.
Dronfield doubled their lead in the 65th minute when another loose ball at the back led to Summer Ingham who had a lot of work to do but found a great finish from outside the box.
With twenty minutes remaining it was three when Humble scored after a Dronfield corner and on 76 minutes came the fourth goal when Bennehan's free kick did just enough to beat Varnam.
Eleven minutes from time a great run by Wilson allowed her space to find a ball to Faulding but the shot was wide.
With six minutes remaining came another Wilson run, this time she took the shot on but Lee made the save.
The final goal came in the 89th minute when Ingham was played in and rounded Varnam before tapping into an empty net.
The Nailers, with four games remaining are safe from relegation and could still finish as high as 4th although this would take a freak set of results around the division.
