The opening quarter of an hour saw end to end football as both teams came to terms with the 4G surface at Belper Leisure Centre.
In the 16th minute a great run and then shot from range by Honor White tested the Dronfield goalkeeper.
A minute later Mia Carnelley was played in for the Nailers but again it was saved.
Belper took the lead on 31 minutes. A great goal kick from the returning Lucie Selby picked out Liv Froggatt who produced a cool finish.
Selby ensured the home side led at the break with a good save on 41 minutes and the visitors hit the crossbar a minute later.
Dronfield put Belper under pressure at the start of the second half but they spurned early chances and missed a penalty in the 63rd minute.
However, on 83 minutes they were awarded a second penalty and Charlotte Bennehan converted to ensure a share of the spoils for former Nailers manager Dom Anderson and his team.
