As with most matches played in such blustery conditions, a lot of the life was sucked out of the match and the first half in particular had little to offer.
It took until the 38th minute for either side to go close, April Hallam playing in Olivia Suasby-Gallimore for the hosts but her shot was cleared off the line by Shania Allison who had a great afternoon in the yellow and black.
Two minutes before the break, Sausby-Gallimore fired a shot just wide.
On 62 minutes, Belper could only half clear and a cross from Churcher reached Alicia Cutter but Maggie Buxton made the save.
In the 77th minute, a great ball from Dion Cowen found Liv Froggatt but her shot across goal was just wide.
The Nailers broke the deadlock with seven minutes of normal time remaining. Evie Jowett squared the ball for Mia Carnelley who took a touch before finishing into the corner.
Belper had a chance to seal the win on 87 minutes when Jowett's shot was saved and ricocheted off Freya Wilson to fall to Jess Smithurst but her shot was just over the bar.
Lincoln nearly equalised in the 89th minute. A harsh free kick was given inside the Belper penalty area for a back pass, despite the incident occurring far too fast for the pass to have been intentional. Hallam rolled the ball into the path of Sausby-Gallimore but her shot was blocked.
Belper took advantage of this reprieve to complete the victory four minutes into stoppage time. After a corner was fumbled, Wilson was on hand to volley home from close range in only her second match back after a long injury layoff.
Belper climb to 6th in the EMWRFL North and still have games in hand on all but one of the teams above them as they seek the highest league finish in their history.
