Hatton saw their goalkeeper suffer an injury in the first half and had to then play the remainder of the match with ten players.
That shouldn’t take away from a dominant Belper performance throughout, skippered impressively by Cara Kington and with two outfield players (Gina Lowe and Lauren Murfin) playing 45 minutes each in goal.
Holly Wright gave Belper the lead eight minutes in after a barrage of corners, one fell to her on the corner of the six-yard box and she fired home smartly with power.
Murf then smashed in Belper’s second on 19 minutes with a trademark long range left footed strike.
Further good chances were created but in the crucial moments Belper couldn’t quite find the quality final pass or the finish.
The second half saw the introduction of two of our U18s - Leah Fraser and Tamsin Wilkins - into senior women’s football and both had a great impact which is exciting for the future of the club.
The second half also saw the introduction of Jessie Leyshon after a long lay off with injury and it was Jessie who scored Belper’s third and final goal after she followed up the impressive Ella Brown’s long range shot to slide the ball home from a yard out - what a return to the team for Jessie!!
A massive three points in Belper’s bid to remain in Division Two and next up is the League Plate Final in two weeks time!
